Watch: The Official Tralier for TENDER
The day is almost upon us… Pierre Louis Costes’ long awaited blockbuster ‘TENDER’ has been wrapped up and tied with a bow, ready to be delivered for our viewing pleasure. And just like a kid on Christmas we couldn’t help ourselves but have a quick peak under the tree (check the official trailer above).
From the teasers and trailers we’ve seen thus far, the film’s World Premiere on the 30th of August in Shellharbour can’t come soon enough. The calibre of riding on display in this latest edit, along with the roll call of names that it will feature has us chomping at the bit to lay our eyeballs on this thing.
With anticipation levels rising in the boog world we thought we’d catch up with Pierre. We managed a quick chat in between him dropping his son off to school and his preparations for another World Title showdown later this year, to talk about the film and the World Premiere that’s happening in Australia in a few weeks.
“What started as a simple conversation about an eventual project to do something different for bodyboarding, has now become a reality, and after 3 years in the making, we finally have a date to show the movie in theatres - Friday August 30.”
Pierre certainly is doing something unique with this film. It revolves around 10 ‘transformative’ waves from his life that have shaped him as a person and his bodyboarding career. With the film being something so important to him, Pierre wanted its roll out to be more significant than just a generic premiere anywhere in the world.
“I wanted the World Premiere to be somewhere symbolic and the South Coast of Australia is one place that makes sense, not only because some of the most talented individuals of our sport are from there but also because I know I owe a lot to this place, and Australia in general, for the bodyboarder I am today. It wasn’t so long ago Amaury and I were chasing waves during the winter, camping under the rain, with one dream in mind - to become a professional bodyboarder. I remember us going to watch the premiere of Todd Barnes’ film VIDEO and never in my wildest dreams did I think that one day I would premiere my own movie in the same part of the globe. I would like to invite all of you to join us at Greater Union Cinemas in Shellharbour for the World Premiere of TENDER.”
Well there you go, a personal invitation from PLC himself. What more motivation do you need to head to the South Coast come the end of August?
BE WARNED however, there is strictly limited seating for this, which means booking is essential! You can find all of the options below for opening night - which includes an open bar and a chance to mingle with the stars before the movie starts.
