The Return of The Fronton King
The APB and Fronton King promoters have finally buried the hatchet after disagreements regarding the event which saw it run independently of the APB and World Tour. The two parties have made amends in order to bring the event back as an official World Tour stop. Music to the ears of many, this will see our sports best all converge to the Canary Islands to surf one of the heaviest waves going around.
A press release from the APB had this to say regarding the events omission from the Tour last year:
Last year, both parties could not reach an agreement and APB wishes to apologize publicly with our fans, with the Canaries, Sponsors, Government and organization of Gran Canaria Frontón King. In 2018 a press release was published that released much information, as well as content that damaged the relationship with the promoters of the Gran Canaria Frontón King. In order to fix the damage APB resumed conversations and agreed to rejoin the two projects for the good of the sport and the athletes.
With the 15th to the 26th of October locked in for the Gran Canaria Fronton King, it will be the final stop of the 2019 tour. With all the drama on land between the APB and promoters seemingly done and dusted, hopefully the theatrics shift into the water and we are treated with a dramatic showdown later this year.
