A Worthy, Feature-Length Distraction From The World Tour Flatspell
Around 300 of bodyboarding's glitterati – most in town to participate in the Australian leg of the world tour which has, thus far, been plagued with one of the biggest winter flat spells the East Coast of NSW has ever seen – crowded into a tiny Kiama beach surf club on Friday 3 August, to feast their wave-starved eyes upon 3 Amigos: the much-anticipated feature-length flick directed by Tom Jennings and James Strickland, and starring Lewy Finnegan, George Humphreys and Davis Blackwell.
According to our semi-pie-eyed man on the ground (courtesy of the free-flowing mid-strengths), there were "more pros than you could poke a stick at" – which, if you know the guy, means he was probably wielding an actual stick and we're in the shit for a few personal injury lawsuits. But all was well as the reel eventually cycled, bringing some "next level shit" to the big screen wherein Jennings and his band of lovable chargers tear apart every decent stretch of coast from West Oz to Hawaii, The Canaries and beyond.
It's incredible viewing, a real must-see, and will be coming to you exclusively at Movement in the very near future. In the meantime, satisfy both your wave cravings and voyeurism with some glossy images from the evening.
